“My goal is to have profile 3 and D”

Raian RupertFor their first pre-season match Blabbery They passed through Chase Center, a home of warriors, but also Walkiries. Raian Rupert It was a bit like home after he came to San Francisco several times this summer to see his sister, Iliana, the Golden State Player in VNBA.

Before launching her third season, the 21nd year, he looked at his studied summer, at the training camp for the training of Blazers and on the return of Damian Lillard and the discovery of Yang Hansen.

Raian, we left you after a convincing summer league, how was the rest of the summer?

I continued to work hard after a summer league. I cut a little and I returned right away. When I was in France, I worked with my personal trainer. The same when I went to Morocco. And then I came back to Portland pretty early to do the rest of the summer there. I had a little twist that slightly slowed me in the last few weeks, but I’ve been satisfied with my summer as a whole.

Did the staff give you a list of priorities to do this summer or is it easy to continue the work done during the season?

Yes, after that I know I have to move on, especially my defense. Be able to defend all the court, keeping active hands, be in transient strips, such a guy. In attack, priority is to continue to develop my shot with the aim of having a profile “3 and d”. And besides, the goal is to continue to be aggressive in their final processing, well read their game and focused on simple things that can make a difference.

“Obviously I will never become bodybuilder, but it’s good to be able to better get better, to be hard on earth”

Chauncei Billups told us before the match was especially pleased with your physical development. Was that your summer priorities?

Yes, of course. Every summer it is one of my priorities. During the season, it is more complex, but during the summer it is when you can really work on your body and thrive. It was a continuation of the end of the season. I really focused on this summer because I know it is an essential aspect of my development. After that, obviously, I will never become bodybuilder, but it is good that you can better consult better, be difficult on the field, and they still work on my explosiveness.

How did he go to the training camp?

Pretty good. I try to play my role to make energy at both ends of the field. I feel really good, so it’s positive right now.

This is your last year of the contract. How are you approaching this season? Is that something you have in mind or can you overlook it?

I try not to project too much. And then, it’s Cliche, but I focus on what I can control, it means keeping hard and use the opportunity to have to give 200%, and then I try to show. It’s a goal and then we’ll see what happens. But looking forward to next summer is of little use, I prefer to focus on the present moment.

Chauncei Billups also said that despite your progress, there are people in front of you and hopes you can learn from veterans to continue your progress. Are you a guy to set your teammates a lot of questions or are you more obser?

It’s a little both, but I’m more guy who watches much before asking questions. Especially a player like JRUE, we don’t have to present his resume. Twice champion, he is one of the best external veterans in the league in the last 10-15 years, so I look at it a lot. I am happy to have different defense profiles in the composition. JRUE is strong on man, toumani also in assists as well. Matisse Thibulle is also very good when it’s not on the carrier, so I’m trying to take inspiration from them and that all things from everyone else. I watch, I ask them questions and try to integrate it all into my defensive Arsenal.

Damian Lillard, Blazers icon, returned to Portland. Can you describe to us what that means for the city, for fans, but also for the locker room and franchise?

You really feel that there is a buzzing in the city. It’s a bit return to normal. She wasn’t there for two seasons, she just wasn’t normal for fans, for a franchise, for players. So there is enthusiasm of all. Every time I’m out and meet people who recognize me, talk to me directly about the lady. ‘He came back, what was it, did you talk to him?’ It’s nice. We all know that the best player in the history of the franchise, so it is the fact that he is amazing.

“The level of training camp this year was really greater than the previous two years”

We know that when a player is injured or in rehabilitation, he is not necessarily with a group. Is that the case for him or do you feel his presence?

He was in all practices during training. He works his rehabilitation at the training center and then he remained watching training. He’s there, he’s been present and he invested.

You have a new teammate in Yang Hansen this season. Blazer created a surprise by drew it so high. There are a lot of mystery and predicting around him. Can you describe it for NBA fans in France who don’t know him too well?

There is really a very, very, very special player in the field. He has a basketball IK and support support that I rarely saw in internal players, especially in his age. His support is really impressive. Sometimes it releases actions in training that put you in the viewer / fan mode. So, yes, basketball IK and support really above average and its touch. Off, don’t speak much English, but you feel it’s funny, a smiling guy. He is eager to learn, he works hard every day. He has everything to become a great player.

Some nickname “Baby Jokic” is probably premature and could be an extra pressure. What do you think?

In the profile it is true that he is the first player to come to mind. You mean Jokic right now. After that, he has a lot of pressure on him, either here or in China. So, we need to let him develop because it is still young, but I have no doubt that it will affect the franchise.

You surprised a lot of people during the second half of the season last year. Do you think you reached a turning point where you can build from the beginning of the season? Does the goal of playing or playoffs look more achievable this season?

Yes, clear, it’s obvious goal. The level of training camp this year was really greater than the previous two years. Young players have progressed, we have more a player achieved to run a group. And we feel there is a different energy. We are in “Vin” mode. We want to win as many matches as possible to try to go to the playback or playoffs.
