Naji Marshall posted exactly 1 word after the Anthony Davis trade

Wednesday afternoon, The Dallas Mavericks have decided to shake things up merchant Anthony Davies and several other players to the Washington Wizards in exchange for a package focused on future draft compensation. The move ends Davis’ time in Dallas just over a year after trading Luka Doncic in the midst of a turbulent 2025-26 season.
One person who seemed surprised by the news was Davis’ Mavericks teammate and trade candidate Find Marshallwho took to X, formerly Twitter, with his a blunt reaction to the newsas first reported by ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.
“Wow,” Marshall wrote on the platform.
Davis has played in 29 games for the Mavericks since being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers last year, and the dominant, defensive-focused team envisioned by former general manager Nico Harrison anchored around Davis has unfortunately never panned out.
Fortunately for Mavericks fans, the team got lucky with the number one overall pick last May, which they used to select Cooper Flagg. The former Duke has been excellent at the NBA level so far in his rookie season, especially in recent weeks as he recently scored 49 points in a game against the Charlotte Hornets.
Now that the Mavericks have turned the page on the Davis era, it remains to be seen if they make any more moves before this year’s deadline. The team is also awaiting the return of Kyrie Irving, who has been sidelined since last March with a torn ACL.
While the Davis experiment may have crashed and burned, the Mavericks’ new regime deserves credit for seeing the writing on the wall and cutting its losses, as opposed to letting things drag on longer than necessary.
Either way, the NBA trade deadline is set for Thursday afternoon at 3:00 PM ET.
