Nashville GM Barry Trotz is calling out players in the midst of a nightmare

The The Nashville Predators are mired in a difficult season. Nashville has just six wins so far this campaign, in 22 games. Predators General Manager Barry Trotz he doesn’t hold back his frustration over the whole situation.

“I need more (expletive) from them,” Trotz said of his players, according to The Tennesseean . “I need more.”

Nashville has struggled to find offense for the second straight season. The Predators are at the bottom of the NHL in points.

“These laments are a repeat of last year, when Nashville finished 30th (out of 32 teams) in the league with 2.59 goals per game. This season, they dropped to just 2.29 goals per game, 31st in the league,” Alex Dougherty wrote for the outlet.

The Predators dropped their third game in a row on Monday. Nashville was swept by the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers 8-3. Those three goals were the only goals Nashville scored during this current losing streak.

Predators GM Barry Trotz is sticking with his head coach for now

Andrew Brunette is the head coach of this tough Nashville team. Trotz gave to Brunet his approval for now.

“I follow the game systematically,” Trotz told NHL.com. “I know who’s wrong. When the puck is on someone’s stick and they pass it straight (to the other team), it’s not (Brunetta’s) fault.”

this season, The Predators scored only 16 points. That’s the fewest points scored by any team in the Western Conference. Not only are the Predators struggling to score, but the defense has been inconsistent. Nashville scored a total of 81 goals.

The Predators general manager also points the finger at himself for the team’s struggles.

“We have some pieces,” Trotz said. “The roster isn’t perfect. Some of it is, a little bit, roster construction. I’ll take responsibility. I think the coaches take a little bit, and I think the players do, too. It’s all a partnership.”

Nashville will look to end its losing streak when it next plays against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night.
