NBA game against Benedict Maturin after the Lakers loss
The LA Clippers dropped Game 2 of the All-Star break against Luka Doncic and Los Angeles Lakersbut he fought until the final buzzer despite being cut short by some of the judges in the competition and feeling slighted.
In just his fourth game with the team, Benedict Maturin he scored 26 points off the bench with seven rebounds and two assists. He continued a hot scoring start of his stay with the franchise he was traded to at the NBA trade deadline. He also fouled out late in the fourth quarter and picked up a costly technical foul.
With 7:35 left in the second quarter and the Lakers leading 54-42, Benedikt Maturin is fouled Lakers forward Jared Vanderbilt. Maturin appeared to push him away, and the officials responded with a technical foul on the Clippers guard.

Maturin was confused by the technical foul but continued to play through the call. Austin Reeves made the free throw.
The Clippers lost their game against the Lakers 125-122 on Friday night.
On Saturday morning, the NBA announced it would overturn the technical foul that was handed to Benedict Maturin. That would have reduced his technical foul count for the season and also kept him from paying the fine, but Reaves’ free throw ended up being the key in the game, as the Clippers wouldn’t have to make a 3-pointer on their final shot to tie the game.
Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 38 points, six rebounds, 11 assists and three steals, while Austin Reeves scored 29 points with six rebounds and two assists for the Lakers.
Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 31 points, four rebounds and five assists while shooting 11 of 19 from the field and 4 of 6 from three. Benedikt Maturin recorded his 26 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field and 11-of-14 from the free throw line.
The Clippers will face the Orlando Magic on Sunday night, but many questions remain. Will Kawhi Leonard play after leaving the game with ankle soreness with five minutes left in the fourth quarter? Will John Collins avoid being placed in the NBA’s concussion protocol after taking a nasty hit on a lob attempt in the first half of Friday’s game?
