NBA: James Harden set a LA Clippers record with 55 points in a win over the Charlotte Hornets
James Harden set a Los Angeles Clippers record with 55 points in the team’s 131-116 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
The 36-year-old guard surpassed the Clippers’ previous record of 52 points in a game, which was jointly held by Bob McAdoo and Charles Smith.
Harden’s efforts helped the Clippers improve their record to 5-11 this season, and he said, “The work I put in individually, I do it for the whole team. I’m just trying to find ways to win games.”
In second place in the NBA on Saturday, Nikola Jokic had a great individual game, but the Serbian’s 44 points couldn’t prevent the Denver Nuggets from losing 128-123 to the Sacramento Kings – who snapped an eight-game losing streak.
The Detroit Pistons remain atop the Eastern Conference, extending their winning streak to 12 games – their best since 2004 – with a 129-116 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
But the Washington Wizards fell to their 14th straight loss, losing to the Chicago Bulls 121-120.
