NBA record for Stephen Curry and his father Dell

Tonight against the Jazz, Stephen Curry played his 1,052nd. career match. Within a few games, the Warriors superstar will surpass his father, Dell Curryfor that matter, who played 1,083 NBA games between 1986 and 2002.
But these two already hold the record in league history: the one for the most matches played by a father-son duo. By participating in a total of 2,135 games, they surpassed the Hall of Fame Dolph Schaies and his son, Danny, who totaled 2,134 games.
The Currys became synonymous with high-level shooting over several decades after Dell played 16 seasons in the NBA and became one of the most respected long-range snipers of his era. Steph followed in Dell’s footsteps by becoming the all-time leading 3-point shooter, making more 3-pointers than any player in the history of the game.
Third curry with 1,000 triples coming soon
When Dell retired after the 2001-02 season, his 1,245 career 3-pointers ranked 10th in NBA history. Steph, who entered Saturday with 4,177 field goals in his 17-year career, now has about 1,000 more than No. 2 James Harden.
In the Curry family, we can’t forget little brother Seth, who after more than 500 games in the Big League, with a 43.3% career 3-point success rate, has already recorded a career-high 947 3-pointers. Which means he’s poised to become the third Curry to make at least 1,000 3-pointers in his NBA career.
« it’s cool. It’s longevity and a family business in this game. If you add my brother’s points, it’s even better, so it’s really special for the Curry family as a whole. Knowing that (Dell) played for 16 years and I’m 17, I’m still trying to do it. A dream come true, to be honest », Stephen Curry reacts to finish.
