NBA: Victor Wembanyama makes history as San Antonio beats Brooklyn

Victor Wembanyama became the first player in NBA history to record 100 points and 15 blocks in the first three games of the regular season when the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Brooklyn Nets in Texas.

San Antonio rallied from a 26-point lead to maintain its undefeated start to the campaign with a 118-107 victory.

The home team led 81-55 with nine minutes left in the third quarter, but a 26-7 run by the Nets cut the gap to 88-81.

But a strong performance in the fourth quarter – which included a 10-0 run – helped San Antonio seal the victory.

Frenchman Vembanyama scored 31 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, three steals and six blocks in 36 minutes of action.

The 21-year-old, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft, is averaging 33.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and six blocks through his three games this season.

The 7-foot-4 center returned from eight months out at the start of the campaign after undergoing shoulder surgery for deep vein thrombosis in February.
