NBACentel went viral for predicting Stephen Curry-Under Armor to break up a year early

There is an art to being a popular parody account. If someone only posts absurd statements that no one can possibly understand, interest will probably decrease. Mixing in false information that seems believable enough to be entertaining is how this works social media based saboteurs are able to maintain a large following throughout the year. When you stick to a formula like that, there’s actually a small chance that one of those “reports” prove true. Just ask NBACentel, who made it impressively accurate Stephen Curry “prediction.”
“WORRY: Steph Curry and Under Armor part ways,” NBACentel reported on August 24, 2024, more than a year before the split actually happened. The Golden State Warriors is a legend and four-time NBA champion embarks on a new path after more than a decade with the American sportswear company, it announced on Thursday that it will move forward independently with the curry brand.
The 2022 Finals MVP is one of the most prominent athletes to ever be sponsored by Under Armour, so this breakup is obviously big news. Still, is it shocking? Not to take away from what is undoubtedly a significant moment for NBACentel, but the idea of Curry going it alone was doable. When a superstar reaches icon status, they may be inclined to run their own business.
Under Armor certainly helped the no. 30 to build the curry brand, but will now shift its focus to other game-changing talents such as Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who has been with the company since 2020.
NBACentel predicted the end of this era, and now the victory lap will last. Maybe people will think twice when they read one of his outrageous tweets. Stephen Curry inadvertently gave NBACentello endless bragging rights, but hopefully the satirical display won’t gain any credibility.
