It’s time to continue our basketball games series with NC state duke prediction and selection. Learn how to watch the NC State Dukes.

The Duke Blue Devils are On track to win the ACC Championship and are very much in the running for the No. 1 in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils led the Wake Forest by 13 points at halftime on Saturday. They then gave up a 23-4 run to wake up to start the second half. The Blue Devils who drew six Mysore during the second half and were in big trouble. However, Duke’s defense regrouped, and the Blue Devils were able to dominate the tally in a 63-56 upset that kept Duke in sole possession of first place in the ACC and the conference. The Dukes’ only losses this season were to Kansas and Kentucky. Given that the duke beat no. 1 Auburn, the Blue Devils have a substantial resume even though the ACC isn’t as strong as it often has been in the past. The Duke just has to keep controlling the ACC. If Duke doesn’t lose more than two games through the ACC Tournament, it will likely enter Selection Week as the projected no. 1 seed in martor madness. Let’s see if the Blue Devils can continue what they started in the game.

North Carolina State beat Duke in the Elite a year ago a year ago. The WolfPack reached the Final Four for the first time in 41 years and raised hopes that the struggling program could become an annual factor in the ACC and establish itself as an annual NCAA Tournament team.

That hope was not fulfilled this season. NC State is one of the worst offensive teams in the country. The effort is there and the defensive production has been good, but the offense just can’t score. NC State held the high-octane drive to just 63 points that Saturday, but the Wolves’ offense was stuck in the mud, managing just 57 points. The Wolfpack and coach Kevin Keats just can’t overcome their offensive limitations, which is not a good way to enter Cameron Stadium in an indoor stadium against a Duke team on the strength to enter the last four this year.

Why NC State will cover the spread / win

The WolfPack only scored 57 points against SMU, which would obviously seem like a reason to pick against them here, but NC State isn’t going to get fired up or go bad in two straight games. At the very least, it will be difficult for State to be as bad against Duke as it was against SMU. Even a small improvement in the “laws of averages” of the species should allow the state to achieve enough to remain moderately close and eventually cover the spread.

Why the duke will cover the spread / win

Duke is a far better and more talented team than NC State. It is played at home. Also consider that Duke gave up 23-4 against the Vaca Forest, but still won by seven. Imagine a game where the Dukes don’t give up a big drive. The Blue Devils could easily argue, they should win by at least 20, if not more.
