New deal for Trendon Watford in Philly?
Paul George’s suspension has made two people unhappy: the main one, obviously, and Philadelphia as a whole. However, it also makes people happy, Trendon Watford for example, since now you have to divide the scoreboard, shoot and score points.
Returning from injury in early January, the Sixers power forward was used very little by Nick Nurse. Then he came this news about Paul Georgeplus the transfers of Jared McCain and Eric Gordon. Thus, in six matches, Trendon Watford played 20 minutes per match, for 7.2 points and an average of 4.8 rebounds.
“He knows how to play basketball”, summarizes Joel Embiid. “He’s very collective, he wants to make the right cuts. Whether it’s allowing a teammate to have an open shot or taking the shot himself, he’s very smart and does all the little things.”

“You have to be ready, you’re going to play. It’s inevitable.”launched Tyrese Maxey to his teammate, whom he sees as the successor to Nicolas Batum, the “glue” of Philadelphia in the 2023/24 season. “We need everyone to win games, especially during the regular season.”
So it’s up to him to make the most of it until Paul George returns and earn credit with his coach.
“Even if I don’t play 27 minutes like I did against Phoenix, I’ll prepare like I did. I’ll try to stay as focused as possible. You never know what the match will demand, or what the coach will need. That’s my approach: I control what I can control.”he said to conclude.
