New York big man speaks boldly about “murders” in Minnesota
Many NBA players have already spoken about the murders that took place in the city of Minneapolis by federal agents. The killings sparked protests across the city that drew thousands, and basketball took a backseat to the larger, more pressing issue. Count New York Knicks the great man Gershon Jabuselah among those who condemned the violence that stunned the nation.
On Monday, during the Knicks’ off day, Yabusele took the time to post his thoughts on the events in Minneapolis, going so far as to a call for change after the “murders” of Alex Pretty and Renee Goode.
“I can’t stop thinking about the tragic events that are happening in Minnesota, and even though I’m French, I can’t stay silent. What’s happening is beyond comprehension. We’re talking about murders here, they’re serious things. The situation has to change, the government has to stop acting this way. I stand with Minnesota 🙏🤾,” Yaelebus wrote.
The deaths of Pretty and Good come at the hands of federal agents amid the current administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration. Yabusule joins Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns in solidarity, calling out the act of violence that has now sparked an attack on United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The Knicks’ Gershon Yabusele is the latest NBA player to speak out

Several NBA players have indeed used their platform to reach out to millions, denouncing the actions of ICE. The most prominent statement was made by Tirese Haliburton, who directly stated that “Alec Pretty was killed.”
Stephen Curry also expressed his support for protesters who took to the streets in the groves despite the cold weather in the city of Minneapolis. Head coaches Steve Kerr and Chris Finch, along with the NBPA, also released statements following the two kills.
