New York gives another 2-year extension in the midst of a disastrous season

The New York Jets eyes clearly fixed on the future. New York is 3-11 heading into Week 16 and recently fired defensive coordinator Steve Wilks after being blown out by Jacksonville. Now the Jets front office has extended his contract with just a few weeks remaining in the regular season.
The Jets the contract was extended with tight end Jeremy Ruckert on Tuesday, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. It’s a two-year deal worth $10 million with a cap hit of $5.5 million per season.
Ruckert’s extension comes soon after The Jets extended center Josh Myers on his own two-year contract.
