New York sends farewell words to Queenen Williams after Cowboys trade

The New York Jets said goodbye to the beloved member of the defense unit afterwards shipping Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys before the trade deadline on Tuesday.

In exchange, the Cowboys sent Mazzie Smith, a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 first-round pick to the Jets, who appear to be already looking ahead amid another nightmare campaign.

The Jets, who are languishing at the bottom with a 1-7 record, posted a farewell message for Williams after trade.

“For everything you’ve given the green and whites over the last six years, thank you @KuinnenWilliams,” the team posted on X.

The Jets drafted Williams third overall in 2019 and he quickly became a key cog on the roster despite a string of down seasons with the team. The 27-year-old defensive lineman became a first-team All-Pro member and a three-time Pro Bowler during his time in New York.

Fans also expressed their gratitude to Williams.

“Great jet. Good luck in Dallas, K,” said @NIJ_Matt, Doc adding a GIF large executor.

“A real Jet. I’m going to miss watching him beat double teams like it’s nothing,” common @zaittvfo.

“He was a stud his entire career and never complained publicly when he could. Wishing Big K the best for the rest of his career,” echoed @Dominicalheidt.

“Thanks for putting up with three rebuilds, K. Good luck in Dallas! You’ll always be pulled!” commented @danbau76.

@Message0fReason posted perfect video Williams, adding: “To the best guy on the team, we owe you a big thank you.”

With the Cowboys, Williams is expected to bolster a defense that ranks 29th in the NFL in stops, allowing 143 yards per game.

Dallas coach Brian Schottenheimer has already expressed his excitement over the acquisition of Williams, describing him as a “difference maker,” according to Fox Sports.
