Nike promises Cade Cunningham a signature shoe for next season

Cade CunninghamDetroit has its new superstar, and Nike intends to use it. ESPN announces what Cade Cunningham has signed a new six-year contract with the swoosh brand, which has promised him the launch of his own signature shoes, expected for the 2026/27 season!

The Pistons point guard becomes only the sixth active NBA player to be signed by Nike, in addition to LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Ja Morant, Devin Booker etc Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The first pick in the 2021 draft, Cade Cunningham thus confirms himself as the face of Detroit’s rebuild. A complete leader, scorer and creator, he ate his bread and butter during the first three seasons, between injuries and disappointing sports results. But the Pistons rebounded nicely last year, as their leader became an All-Star. And after tasting the playoffs, the team (11-2) is currently in first place in the East!

Enough to make the former Oklahoma State player an ideal ambassador for a range of products. On the courts, he plays almost exclusively in the Nike GT Cut, often in exclusive Pistons colorways, suggesting a low-profile shoe designed for changes of pace.

For Nike, this partnership is part of the transition to a post-LeBron/KD era, leaning on a new generation led by Ja Morant, Devin Booker… and now Cade Cunningham.
