Nikola Jokic advanced on Denver’s all-time list against the Jazz

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic recently earned the record for most career center assists in league history, surpassing NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Well, clearly, Jokic is not done with achieving fruitful milestones yet.
Against the Utah Jazz at Ball Arena on Monday, the three-time MVP moved up to eighth on the Nuggets’ all-time list for career blocks with 557 and more.
At the pace he is going, Jokić can climb to seventh place this season.
For those curious, the late Dikembe Mutombo tops the team’s all-time list with 1,486 career blocks, followed by former Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Cambie with 1,126 career tackles.
While Jokić is not exactly known as a rim protectorhe had his fair share of bounces, using his size, weight and timing. His speed can also be deceiving, as he can recover quickly in the paint.
The Pride of Serbia have always refused credit, especially when it comes to individual recognition, but they could be pleased to have achieved a feat for an underrated aspect of their game.
Jokic didn’t stress too much after beating Abdul-Jabbar for the aforementioned record.
“At this point, not much because you don’t have time to think about it. You have two hours to think about it, then forget about it,” the 30-year-old center said.
As of this writing, the Nuggets lead the Jazz by a wide margin heading into the fourth quarter. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games.
