Nikola Jokic’s 55-point masterpiece interrupted by a running fan

Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets had a night to remember at the Intuit Dome on Wednesday after embarrassing Los Angeles Clippers130-116.
What was a tight first half turned into a blowout after the Nuggets outscored the Clippers 43-22 in the third quarter. From there it was easy for Denver, who improved to 9-2.
Jokic was simply unstoppablefinished with 55 points and tied the season record in the league. He shot 18-of-23 from the field, including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc, and added 12 rebounds and six assists.
Jokić’s masterful performance, however, was spoiled by an incident with a fan, who ran onto the field in the middle of the game. He tried to avoid security personnel before getting off the floor.
30 year old Jokic set the tone early for the Nuggetsdown by 25 points in the first quarter. He added eight more markers in the second frame to set a season high in the league for points in a half.
The Nuggets extended their winning streak to six games despite losing Cam Johnson and Christian Brown to injuries in the first half. They didn’t get back into the game.
Aaron Gordon added 18 points and five rebounds, while Jamal Murray had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
The Nuggets will go as far as Jokic takes them, and the three-time MVP is looking to bring another championship to the Mile High City. Although he is known as one of the most unselfish stars in the NBA, he can easily get buckets when needed.
