Nikola Jokić’s crazy pass from behind leads to a grand slam

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic he probably wakes up every game day thinking, “What crazy pass should I try today?”

On Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center, there was a dog behind.

The Nuggets were ahead, 112-97, with 4:50 left in the fourth quarter when Jokic decided to go for it. He was guarded by Derrick Quinn at the free throw line when he made a lovely coin Peyton Watson, who gave a face mask before diving into the basket for a dunk.

You should have just gotten out of the way, Trey Murphy III.

The nice play was enough to boost the Nuggets, who held on for the win, 125-118. They improved to 11-3, including 5-2 on the road, as the Pelicans suffered their 13th loss in 15 games.

The 30-year-old Jokic recorded another triple-double – wow, shocking – with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. However, he also had nine turnovers.

The 23-year-old Watson finished the night with a career-high 32 points on 13-of-19 field goals, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. He added 12 rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Even the return of Zion Williamson from a hamstring injury was not enough to carry the Pelicans, who fell by as many as 19 points, to victory. Williamson had 14 points, six rebounds and five assists.

The Nuggets will always be a difficult match when Jokić is present. Unfortunately for the opposition, he was a permanent fixture. He did not miss a single game this season.

Denver will play the Houston Rockets on Friday.
