Nikola Vucevic got his wish in the trade from the Bulls to the Celtics

on tuesday, Chicago Bulls shook things up in the NBA. First, they were part of three-way trade with the Detroit Pistons and the Minnesota Timberwolves. They ended up trading Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to the Pistons and getting guards Mike Conley Jr. and Jaden Ivey in return.

Soon after, Taurus traded veteran center Nikola Vucevic that the Boston Celtics in exchange for Anferni Simmons. In the process, they also received Celtics second round pick, per Bulls on CHSN.

Vucevic (35) has been in the NBA since 2013 from Switzerland’s Morz. He would go on to play seven seasons for the Orlando Magic. 2021. Vucevic was traded to Biko. He played 48 games in Chicago this season and is averaging 16.9 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

In addition, he was held in big moments. Vucevic managed to hit big shots that led the Bulls to several key victories.

In November, he managed to come back with 24 points against the Pistons with the winning three. Later that month, he followed suit with the winning three-pointer against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Then, Vucevic wished Chicago a win against the lowly Washington Wizards during another game in late November.

Currently, the Bulls are 24-26 on the year, 9th in the Eastern Conference standings. The Celtics are 31-18, tied with the New York Knicks for second best in the East.

Vucevic ends his six-year stay in Chicago, averaging 18.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. But perhaps more importantly, he leaves peacefully.

Although Vucevic had his share of moments, there were some obvious signs of dissatisfaction. After the game-winning shot against the Wizards in November, Vucevic wasn’t gloating about the victory.

When he was interviewed by KC Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network during the postgame, Jaylen Smith and Matas Buzelis were messing with him, but he clearly he did not want to participate in entertainment.

December, Vucevic opened Julia Pope of the Chicago Tribune about his confusion playing for Chicago.

“It’s not always easy, to be honest with you, when the team is struggling, when you’re struggling, when things aren’t going your way,” he said. “It’s happened a few times and sometimes it’s hard. Those questions get in your head and you think about it and you get into it, especially when things aren’t going well. I think it’s natural, it’s human nature, but you just have to find a way to limit it as much as possible.”

During his time in Chicago, the Bulls made the playoffs once in 2022. They ended up losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round in five games.

Since then, it’s been a loop of 40 seasons with 39 wins and missing the playoffs.

Now Vucevic will be on a Boston team that has been in the postseason since its second season in the league. 2024 Celtics won the NBA championship and last year advanced to the semifinals of the Eastern Conference.

He will be alongside fellow veterans including Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Xavier Tillman, Peyton Pritchard and Sam Hauser. It is expected that Vucevic will be the starting center of a team on the way to the playoffs.

In the fall days of his age, Vooch is exactly where he wants to be.
