Nikola Vucevic returns to the Bulls… to better find his place in Boston

After two rather shy performances early in his career in Boston, Nikola Vucevic had two good reasons for a good night out on Wednesday night. The first is obvious: He crossed paths with his old team, Chicago. We almost dare not say that he faced off against former teammates, since the Bulls team has changed.

The other is more in the shadows. The day before the meeting, the Celtics were able to practice and these moments allowed the staff to feel more comfortable with Boston’s offensive game.

“It’s always good to practice. He pays attention to detail and wants to do things well.”, analyze with Joe Mazzu. “He prepared well and looked much better in this game. We were able to practice and nothing can replace being on the floor, being able to do things live.”

Because until then, Nikola Vučević mostly observed the systems and learned his coach’s instructions through images on the screen. “It helps a lot to have time to do something”confirms former Magic. “Rehearsing, being detailed, always helps.”

With 19 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists in just 26 minutes, Nikola Vučecic fit perfectly into the collective game of the Celtics, who made great sequences in this part got pretty easy.

“This match is a good step forward towards our goal. I felt much more comfortable on the pitch. The boys were also with me and we managed to create good chemistry”he notes, using same word as Jaylen Brown recently as chemistry will be one of the keys to the second half of Boston’s season.
