Norman Powell’s injury status for Clippers revenge
With Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Clippers on monday night, the star Norman Powell is listed on the injury report, as there is no denying that the basketball world wants to see the point guard face his former team. Although Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. hope that he will returnshould be no problem for Powell.
Although Powell is on the injury report, he is listed as “available” to play. Unless there is a dramatic turnaround, he is expected to play in Monday’s game, looking to continue his excellence. Powell dealt with a groin strain that kept him out of last Monday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, suffered the injury a few games before against the Chicago Bulls, but returned last Wednesday.
He would also play in Saturday’s loss to the Detroit Pistons, scoring 28 points in the effort, giving him the point total the team needed “take a firm stand early.” Detroit got off to a quick start on offense as Miami got off to a slow start, and although the team made a run in the fourth quarter, it was too little too late.
“They’re a paint team, they live there, they attack the paint,” Powell told ClutchPoints after the Pistons scored 76 points in the paint. “I thought we just didn’t make a strong enough stance early in the game collectively; they were getting what they wanted. They were coming down. Finishing, getting fouled and-one, whatever. But they were aggressive on offense and we kind of trailed the whole game until late in the fourth.”
Norman Powell’s thoughts on a six-game winning streak snapped and he answered my question about Miami allowing close to 80 points in the paint and close to 30 turnovers.

Norman Powell is looking to lead the Heat alongside his former team in the Clippers

Doc Andrew Wiggins’ 31 points were a wasted effort for the Heat against the Pistons, along with Powell, there were aspects to take away from the contest.
Powell would point out that he came back from a 22-point deficit to just two points with less than a minute remaining, playing more in line with his free-flowing, fast-paced identity that pressures the defense hard, but the team needs that more consistently. Miami is looking to improve its game at 13-7, looking to get back into the win column against Powell’s former team in the Clippers.
