Norman Powell’s injury update amid Tyler Hero’s expected return

With Miami Heat star Tyler Hero was expecting to make his season debut on Monday night against the Dallas Mavericks, it marks a long-awaited moment for the team as the point guard joins a team that has had an impressive start to the season. As rumors indicated Monday was Herro’s return to the heatthe team’s latest injury report has some bad news.

While Herro was upgraded to “suspicious” for the first time this season, Miami’s top scorer in Norman Powellwill miss the competition due to a left groin strain. Despite being different, Powell missed several games earlier in the season with a groin injury.

Although Powell would play 29 minutes in Sunday’s 127-117 win against the Philadelphia 76ers and score a game-high 32 points, the game had previously been a cause for concern.

The Heat’s Norman Powell recently had a groin injury

In an emergency victory over the Chicago Bulls in last Friday’s NBA Cup group game, he left near the end of the first quarter with a groin injury. Even though we get back into the game later and play well, we should imagine it’s the same problem, with the team also citing it as a left groin strain in that game.

ClutchPoints would say that Powell received an MRI which reveals the injury after Sunday’s game, as there is no timetable yet for when he will return. Powell has been excellent for Miami this season after being acquired in an offseason trade, leading the team with 25.4 points per game.

Fans were excited to see a backcourt duo between Herro and Powell, though that will have to be put on hold for now. In addition to Powell, the Heat will also miss some key pieces of the rotation, for example Andrew Wiggins (left hip flexor strain) i Nikola Jovic (right hip shot), who missed the last two and three games respectively.

Fans are expected to debut Hero on Monday against the Mavericks, presumably on the minutes limit, as Miami is 11-6 looking for its fifth straight win.
