NSFV Kevin Durant’s LeBron rant, Dwayne Wade’s reaction to James Harden leaving the Thunder

Houston Rockets All-Star Kevin Durant looked back at LeBron James and Dwiane Wade era with Miami Heat and how NBA players reacted James Harden’s trade to the Rockets in 2012. Two months away from the beating Oklahoma City Thunder Down 4-1 in the 2012 NBA Finals, James and Wade’s congratulatory tweets for Harden irked Durant. Kevin thought the Heat were relieved.

The young and up-and-coming Thunder lost their sixth man as a team led by three future Hall of Fame talents never reached their full potential as a team before Durant left for the Golden State Warriors in 2016. Durant he looked back during his career on Netflix’s Starting 5, on Courtside Buzz’s Instagram.

“What pissed me off is Bron & D-Wade and so many NBA guys tweeting, ‘Congratulations to my brother James. He’s going to Houston. He’s going to kill it.’ I know Bronn and them were so freaking happy that we weren’t together anymore,” Durant said. “We were on them and**… you all just got scared. You all know we were on our way.”

While the NBA has watched Harden, Durant and Westbrook reach their potential as individuals, many wonder what might have happened if all three had stayed together in Oklahoma City. Durant won the MVP award with the Thunder in 2014. Westbrook did the same in 2017, after which Harden won his MVP award in 2018.

While Harden and Westbrook never reached the NBA Finals, Durant won back-to-back titles over the years with the Warriors. All three are in the Western Conference as Durant prepares for his first season with the Rockets. Harden returned to the Los Angeles Clippers, and Westbrook just agreed to a one-year deal with the Sacramento Kings.

Rockets All-Star Kevin Durant knows why he’s facing the Thunder at the opening in Paicom Center. It was a fitting opponent in Durant, who left the Thunder to win a championship with the Warriors. He joins a Rockets team projected to challenge the Western Conference champions.

Durant spoke about upcoming game and ring ceremony it will take place beforehand, he said, on FanDuel TV’s Up And Adams with Kay Adams.

“I don’t know if I think it’s cool or not, but it is what it is. I know what it is. It should be a fun night, though,” Durant said. “OKC is getting their rings. I’m in the building; I hope they move to see my reaction – that’s what it’s really about. The most important thing is that they get their rings, though.”

The Thunder will host the Rockets on Tuesday.
