Nuggets stop Celtics streak

Nikola Jokic nuggets

Unbeaten in four games, the Celtics head to Denver to finish their road trip to the West. It would be serviced Nikola Jokic (30 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists), Jamal Murray can open the result. However, the leader, being ill, will not be able to stay in place for long and must quickly leave his teammates. Despite this loss and the lack of success behind the arc like this 4/15 in the first quarter drill, Denver is only three points behind after twelve minutes (24-21).

The first burst on the Nuggets defense is challenging Derrick White (20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks). The leader starts with two arrows at a distance. David Adelman’s men immediately responded with an 8-0 run to claw back to tie the game before the same Derrick White ended the run with another long basket. In this second quarter, the former Spurs player scored 18 points, including the fourth prize basket, before returning to the locker room (48-47).

After the break, missed 3-point shots continued. We had to wait until the end of this third quarter to see the Nuggets pull away from Boston. The home team went 11-0 with a long header from Nikola Jokić and a counterattack basket from a new arrival in Colorado, KJ Simpson (77-67). To begin the last act, Jonas Valanciunas it shows first in the racket and then with the mid-range shot.

To try to make a comeback, Boston relied on its 3-point skill, but to no avail. His team led by 17 points with five minutes left, Joe Macula decided to open his bench and Denver was able to comfortably win 103-84.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

Derrick White worships at home. Originally from Colorado, Derrick White played at home. Despite the heat in the second quarter where he scored 18 points, the leader was discreet in the rest of the game. Derrick White finished with 20 points on 6/14 shooting and was unable to prevent his team from losing.

Disaster in 3 points. This meeting was against two of the ten most skilled teams in threes this season. If one might logically expect fireworks behind the arch, it was nothing of the sort. From the start of the game, Denver struggled to adjust their sights as evidenced by this 4/15 in the first quarter. However, David Adelman’s team managed to increase the gap in the third quarter and take more than ten points advantage. To try to come back, the Celtics increased their attempts from behind the arc, but there was still no success. The guests finished the game with 12/43 in practice, or barely 28% success. Evidence of this clumsiness, Jailen Brown made just one of his six 3-point attempts.

The Nuggets are at a turning point in their season. Lackluster, Denver won and then caught up mistake against the Warriors happened a few days earlier. Now, the Nuggets will embark on a series of complicated matchups over the next two weeks, including trips to Oklahoma City and San Antonio. This streak of tough matches comes at a time when the Colorado franchise is not in the best form as they have won just three of their last six games.
