Packers HC Matt LaFleur’s immediate reaction to the Wild Card loss to the Eagles
The The Green Back Packers suffered a tough 22-10 loss Philadelphia to the Eagles in the Wild Card round, ending their season, and the head coach of the Packers Matt LaFleur gave all the credit to the Eagles.
“It’s never easy when it ends like this.” Give Philly all the credit. They were definitely the better team tonight,” said Matt LaFleur, via Jason B. Hirschhorn from The Leap.
The Eagles dominated the game from start to finish, though their offense put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia’s defense stifled Green Bay’s offense for most of the game. There were injuries to players like Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Jaden Reed was coming in throughout the game as well, but the offense didn’t show up. LaFleur highlighted the Eagles home field advantage as a difference in the game.

“It just goes back to show you how important it is to win these games at home,” LaFleur said, via USA Today’s Ryan Wood . “We have a really tough division, and I hope our guys use that as fuel this offseason to dig a little deeper.”
Winning the NFC North was a difficult task this season, as the Detroit Lions finished 15-2 and the Minnesota Vikings 14-3. Green Bay had a good regular season, but it won’t be any easier to secure the NFC North, as the Lions will still be talented on paper next season, and the Vikings likely will be, too.
The Packers are a talented team that is very young. Some additions could help them improve next season. Still, it will be a battle to win the NFC North division, as it could remain the best in the NFL in 2025. After going scoreless in 2024, it will be interesting to see how the Packers add to their young and talented roster in 2025.
