Park United Center impassable, NBA postpones Bulls – Heat

The meeting originally scheduled for Thursday between the Bulls and the Heat could not take place due to a condensation problem on the floor. L’United Center was the victim of a series of events that led to the postponement of this match.
To begin with, those present at the scene noticed that there was a leak in the roof of the room. Then the city of Chicago experienced a particularly hot and rainy day as the Blackhawks, the ice hockey team, played a game in this arena on Wednesday. The ice under the parquet together with the hot air in the room led to moisture and therefore condensation on the field of the Bulls.
However, initially the decision was made to play the match. The players of both teams went out on the floor to warm up, but they all found that the floor was impassable.
“Players complained on both sides,” explains Erik Spoelstra. “When we entered the field, we immediately noticed that we could not play.”
Two hours of waiting for nothing…
However, United Center employees tried to clean under towels and rags for several minutes, but to no avail. After more than two hours of waiting, the match was eventually postponed to a later date indefinitely. However, it will be impossible to repeat this game this weekend since the Blackhawks play in Chicago this Friday, while the Heat have “back-to-back” Saturdays and Sundays and therefore cannot play next Monday either.
“These are things we cannot control,” admits Tre Jones. “They kept telling us to wait and every fifteen minutes they would come to us and tell us they were trying to fix the problem so we could get the floor right.”
During these long minutes of waiting, Tyler Herro and Benny the bull took part in the midfield kicking competition, the Chicago mascot won on his first try.
