Pat McAfee pranked Chauncey Billups on ‘College Gameday’?

The NBA has been hot on the news cycle in recent days since then Chauncey Billups was arrested for his alleged involvement in rigged poker games linked to the Italian mafia. It was one of the hottest stories in the world of sports, and it seems Pat McAfee poked fun at the situation on Saturday morning’s “College GameDay” broadcast.
While discussing the College Football Playoff contenders, the 38-year-old former NFL player turned entertainer and sports analyst grilled Billups because of his alleged mischief. McAfee dropped the joke while mentioning the chances of some teams making the postseason.
“I mean, if you’re talking about the Big 12, you can’t just keep BIU here, because there’s still a lot of teams that could potentially get there,” McAfee began. “Not many people bet on 2% odds, unless you’re Chauncey Billups in a Chauncey Billups poker game. . . . I mean, he was allegedly making big bets. It’s not likely that everybody knew they were rigged games.”

Billups, who is 49, was not the only person arrested on Thursday, October 22. Current NBA point guard Terry Rozier and former guard Damon Jones were also arrested. However, Rozier is under investigation for allegedly throwing games, while Chauncey Billups has been charged luring victims to play rigged poker games.
Either way, it’s a bad look for the NBA. Some may think the Pat McAfee joke is a little premature. Others might find it as hilarious as Desmond Howard. Regardless, the betting and gambling scandals are enough to get the FBI involved.
