Paul George signs his first rap match of the season
The last time he scored 35 points or more, Paul George was still with the Clippers. It was on April 7, 2024 against Cleveland, with 39 units. So 18 months later, the Philadelphia winger once again signed a performance at this height.
So much, a few days later Joel Embiid 39 pointsThe Sixers, still without Tyrese Maxey, saw their two stars sit out big games for the first time in a long time.
Until this meeting, “PG” averaged 15.1 points on 42% shooting and scored 35 points on 7/10 from 3-point range. “I feel more comfortable in our system, in our attack”, indicates a former Indiana man. “Now I can be myself. I let the game come to me, I choose my moments and I’m aggressive.”
“I’m more myself than last year”
Even if it isn’t not enough to winPaul George worked hard until the end, scoring 14 points in the last quarter. He still missed his final 3-point attempt with less than 30 seconds left, which would have given Philadelphia the lead.
But the main thing is elsewhere: he has found his feet and can once again make a difference, dominate defenders, unlike the shadow of himself he was during the 2024/25 financial year.
“A lot happened last season. I was trying to save the furniture. I’m in much better health this year,” he assures. “I’m capable of doing things. I can play my game, I can be myself. I still need to do a few things to confirm my return because I’m not completely 100%. But I’m more myself than last year. This is a positive aspect that I remember. And it will get better with time.”
