Portland gets updates on Jrue Holiday, Scoot Henderson

Portland The Trail Blazers have had some good wins this season, but are still hovering in the play-in zone with a competitive Western Conference ahead of them. They have been without a few of their players for the past few weeks due to injuries, and they got some positive updates upon return, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

“The Blazers say Jrue Holiday has been cleared for field work and is nearing its return. Scott Henderson has resumed non-contact activities on the field and will be re-evaluated in two weeks with a torn left hamstring. Jeremy Grant is day-to-day with Achilles tendonitis,” Siegel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Holiday played in just 12 games and suffered a calf strain earlier in the season. The league has been very careful with how it reinstates players after calf strains, as it can lead to bigger injury problems. Holiday is also one of the veterans on the team and may need a little more time to recover from injuries.

As far as Henderson, he’s still trying to work his way up returned to the field after tearing his hamstring a week before training camp. Even without two of their guards, the Trail Blazers did what they could, as many others stepped up in their absence. Danny Awdia is one of the players who won the Trail Blazers, and it’s safe to say he’s having an All-Star season with the stats he’s putting up every night.

Hopefully, once Henderson and Holiday return, the Trail Blazers can make a run and move up in the standings, as they are currently ranked 10th.

It will be a tall order for them, especially when they look at the teams ahead of them like the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors.
