Quentin Grimes praises ‘Swiss Army Knife’ after stunning Warriors
Quentin Grimes he didn’t want to talk about his own line afterwards Wild victory of the Philadelphia 76ers over the Golden State Warriors. He wanted to talk about Dominic Barlow.
Asked after the game to describe Dominic Barlow’s impact, Quentin Grimes called him a “Swiss Army Knife,” adding that Barlow rebounds, shoots, makes plays and is a “big opportunity” for the 76ers. That sounds like standard teammate love until you mark the score. Barlow finished with 6 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and a steal in 35 minutes, via ESPN Box Score, in a 99-98 rout of Philadelphia at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

There was no loud scoring. Dominick Barlow owned the glass with five offensive boards, kept extra possessions alive, and turned some of them into quick passes for cutters and shooters. He also anchored the backline with those three blocks, including several huge contests on drives that could have turned the momentum when the Warriors started to believe.
The night started off like a breeze. The Philadelphia 76ers went on a 22-0 first quarter run, led 30-10 after one, and extended their lead to 24 in the second quarter. Tyrese McKayShooting and defense that forced Golden State to 4-of-25 shooting in the first period. Maxey finished with 35 points on 13-of-27 shooting, 4-of-10 from deep and 5-of-5 at the line. Joel Embiid and Quentin Grimes scored 12 points each.
But the shorthanded Golden State Warriors refused to go away. Playing without Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler and losing Draymond Green to a right leg injury after just nine minutes, they relied on Pat Spencer’s 16 points and De’Anthony Melton’s 14 in his season debut to fight back. A 15-0 run in the fourth quarter and a late 3-pointer by Spencer gave Golden State a 98-94 lead before the rookie VJ Edgecombe‘s put back with 0.9 seconds left, and Maxey’s rush block at the horn saved Philly.
