“As The People’s Insider Jake Fisher explained above in his latest op-ed, Toronto has already seen interest this trade season in Young (who was apparently traded to Washington instead), Dallas’ Davis (now out indefinitely with ligament damage in his left hand) and Sacramento’s Domantas Sabonis (with the Kings not long interested in contacting them),” Stein wrote.
“The various discussions in Toronto involving those players have led to the belief among a number of contending teams that his post-Masai Ujiri front office, now led by Bobby Webster, faces some pressure to do something as eye-opening as the acquisition of Brandon Ingram last winter,” Stein continued. “Translation: The Raptors could decide to trade for Memphis’ suddenly available Ja Morant.”

With The Raptors are also rumored to be linked with Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davisthe conversation around Morant could be interesting as he could join Scotty Barnes, Brandon Ingram and others in keeping the team near the top of the East. Jake Fischer I would also mention the relationship Toronto has with Morant and the Grizzlies.
“Potential roadblock pointed out by our Sportsnet colleague Michael Grange: Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic spent three years on Taylor Jenkins’ staff in Memphis. Will that encourage or deter the Raptors from making an offer?” wrote Fischer.
It remains to be seen if the Raptors go after Morant.
