Raptors join Heat, Warriors in push to trade Giannis Antetokounmpo
How the basketball world has been waiting the latest on Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and as his trade status looks ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline, it looks like the talks have picked up now. On top of ESPN’s Shams Charania reporting that Giannis “is ready for a new home” whether at the trade deadline or in the offseason, Milwaukee seems to be listening heavily to offers. Siegel would note that as well, in addition to citing three teams that were “pushing hard” to get the deal done “before the deadline.”
Those three teams are Miami Heatthe Golden State Warriorsand the Toronto Raptorsthe last one was a fairly new addition to the sweepstakes.
“Giannis is in the NBA spotlight,” Siegel wrote. “Many teams have called the Bucks since the start of 2026 regarding Antetokounmpo’s potential availability, and several teams have pushed for a trade for the two-time MVP before the Feb. 5 trade deadline. According to ESPN, Antetokounmpo appears ready for a new home, and the Bucks are beginning to hear offers for him.”
“The Heat, Warriors and Toronto Raptors are among several franchises that have made a strong push to trade Antetokounmpo before the deadline, multiple league sources said,” Siegel continued. “Trades are developing involving these teams, as well as the New York Knicks, that could be affected by Giannis’ decision.”
Either way, it remains to be seen if the Bucks want to trade Antetokounmpo either at the deadline or wait until the offseason to do so.
