RB Noah Whittington is expected to play in the CFP against Indiana

The The Oregon Ducks are ready to fight Indiana Hoosiers on Friday night in what should be an electrifying game College Football Playoff matchup. In the week leading up to the game, the status of guard Noah Whittington remained unclear, but now the Ducks have a better idea of his availability.
Reports indicate that Whittington he expects to play in the Peach Bowl on Friday, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. However, the redshirt senior is unlikely to start as he is still dealing with an undisclosed injury.
“Oregon’s top rusher, Noah Whittington, is participating in warmups. He is expected to play tonight, but likely won’t start. How much he plays depends on how he feels. He was listed as questionable. The Ducks should know early how effective he will be.”
Whittington leads Oregon with 829 yards on the season. He also managed to record seven total touchdowns (six rushing, one receiving) through 12 games played. Based on reports, it sounds like the 24-year-old rusher could serve as a top backup in the Ducks’ backcourt.
It is not entirely clear what the injury is Noah Whittington dealtsince the program never detected it. Regardless, he’ll push through, and we’ll see how big or small a role he plays Friday against Indiana.
Fortunately for Oregon, the team is loaded with talent at the cornerback position. True freshmen Jordan Davison and Dier Hill Jr. looked sharp in the backfield with or without Whittington. We should expect the Ducks to use their three-headed monster in the running game against the Hoosiers’ stout defense.
