Rebels DL leaves ‘troll’ comment on Lane Kiffin

Ole Miss didn’t allow it Lane Kiffin drama is a distraction in the College Football Playoffbut the team did not forget about it. After the Rebels’ second-round win over Georgia, All-Star defensive tackle Zkavian Harris admitted the team still has its old coach at the forefront.

Kiffin’s departure to LSU ahead of the College Football Playoff was the biggest story of Ole Miss’ quest for its first national championship since 1962. The 50-year-old coach re-entered the spotlight when reports claimed he planned to attend the Sugar Bowl and questioned whether he would be on ESPN’s telecast.

The request was reportedly denied, which Ole Miss players are grateful for. Harris spoke for the team after the game, revealing that the Rebels felt Kiffin did trying to be a “troll” and “steal their shine.”

“That’s what Kiffin tried to do,” Harris said, via On3 Sports. “He tried to be a damn announcer, trying to be a troll. We wanted to troll him. We got a thing for him. He was just trying to steal our shine. That’s all he was trying to do, is steal our shine.”

Kiffin decided not to attend the game and instead showed her face at LSU’s women’s basketball game against Kentucky, which was held at the same time as the Sugar Bowl. He walked out of the tunnel for that game arm-in-arm with Tigers head coach Kim Mulcahy to the cheers of the crowd.

While he wasn’t in the building, the Ole Miss faithful still let Kiffin hear it in the Caesars Superdome. The fans started chanting “F*** Lane Kiffin” in unison at the end of the game when the outcome was decided.

The 39-34 victory allows Ole Miss to advance to the College Football Playoff semi-finals, where they will face Miami. The Hurricanes are also 2-0 in the playoffs and new upset win over No. 2 Ohio State.
