Reddit found a video of Gilbert Arenas talking about gambling with Damon Jones ‘at LeBron’s place’ in 2006.
On Thursday morning, the NBA world was rocked when it was announced that the Miami Heat point guard Terry Rozier and head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers Chauncey Billups was among The FBI has arrested dozens of defendants as part of a wide-ranging investigation into alleged illegal sports betting and mob-backed rigged poker games, according to ESPN’s Shams Charani and David Purdum. The news comes just days into the new NBA season, which began Wednesday night for both the Heat and Blazers, with both teams coming off losing seasons.
Among the other defendants arrested is former Cleveland Cavaliers player and assistant coach Damon Jones, who is one of three defendants in the poker game-fixing and sports gambling case.
On Thursday, the good folks at NBA Reddit dug up an old interview of Gilbert Arenas on VladTV where he talked about the 2006 series between his then team, the Washington Wizards, and James’ team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“We gamble during the series. Not LeBron, but me, Damon Jones, Larry Hughes, we’re at LeBron’s, gambling,” Arenas said. “We’re there three, four, five days during the series.”
Arenas then informed a confused DJ Vlad that he and his teammates were indeed hanging out with opponents in the middle of a playoff series.
A huge investigation for the world of sports

Of course, no one in the indictment has been convicted of anything yet, so all the details in this case are just allegations.
However, the Rozier investigation has been ongoing for a long time, coinciding with a dramatic decline in his play with the Heat last season.
Meanwhile, Billups was hoping to get his Blazers going again this season, looking to re-enter the playoff conversation in a crowded Western Conference, and the team held its own against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.
In any case, more details about the case will likely be released in the coming days.
