Reporter Makes Derrick White’s Bold Predictions for Celtics Due to Jaylen Brown’s Injury

The Boston Celtics have been the dominant team in the NBA’s Eastern Conference, but a major shakeup in the pecking order is likely given the torn Achilles suffered by Jayson Tatum in last year’s playoffs. Tatum will likely miss the entire season for the Celtics.

Additionally, fellow superstar forward Jaylen Brown could miss some time early in the season with a hamstring injury. Compared to Tatum, Brown’s problem isn’t a serious injury, but he may not be at his peak when he’s able to return to action.

The Celticswho won the league title two years ago, still has plenty of talent. Several players could take on new roles this season. Derrick White was one of the all-around team’s most important players because of his defense, passing and long-range shooting. He can fit into one of the team’s schemes as a legitimate scorer.

Celtics reporter Noah Dalzell suggested that White it will move comfortably into his new role and rise above his previous levels in the coming season. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Derrick White averages 25 points a game, especially if Jalen has been out the first few games of the season.”

Instead of having a dominant roster that regularly jumps over all opponents, the Celtics they have to change the way they play the game. They will have to depend on hustle and defense if they want to remain a team that can hold their own in the Eastern Conference.

When Brown is healthy, they should bear some resemblance to past Celtics teams, but players like White, Peyton Pritchard and Anfernee Simons will need to make significant contributions or the team could sink like a rock.

Mazzulla will have to define new roles for all his players and he will have to make sure his players understand and can follow the team’s new game plan.
