Rey Mysterio gets candid about his daughter’s future in wrestling
In the wrestling industry for nearly three decades, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio is probably one of the most famous and legendary pro-wrestlers. After successfully passing on his legacy to his son Dominic MysterioThe luchador has now opened up about his daughter’s future in wrestling.
Recently talking about What do you want to talk about at Codia Rhodes? podcast, Mysterio opened up about his daughter next career stepshoping that his daughter would start on the journey similar to the legend.
“So I said, ‘Okay, the next step would be, let’s see if you can get through a full week of training. And if you can do that and you like it afterwards, then that’s something you might want to think about.’ I’m actually trying to get her out there pretty quick so she can get a feel for what it’s like to train every day,” Mysterio noted. “Wake up, work out all day, sleep, back, same thing. It’s crazy. Like, I’ve been thinking about it, and it scares me, but it also excites me.”
Mysterio added that he wanted his daughter to enter the Orlando Performance Center only after she graduated from college. “Right before I came off the injury, I went to PC in Orlando. My daughter asked me, ‘Dad, I want to jump in the ring. I want to see what it’s like.’ I told her we would do it when she graduated. So she graduated in June and we flew out there on Wednesday.
“I was like no way. This is your first time in the ring?” he added. “She had a connection with, just positioning, hitting the ropes, oh, it’s crazy crazy. She just got in there with me to feel what it was like. To feel the mat, to feel the ropes. I’m afraid she could be (an athlete) if she decides to go that way.”
Mysterio’s son.“Dirty Dom” is already a two-time WWE Intercontinental Championone-time AAA Mega Champion and former NKST North American Champion. He also once held the WWE Tag Titles with his father.
