Rich Paul sounds disrespectful to LeBron James Byron Scott
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James drew the attention of the former champion Laker Byron Scott when he said that preparing for 82 games in a season is now more difficult than it was in the past because of the drastic change in the style of play. Scott pushed this idea aside and was completely furious with Jameshe even begged him to pack his bags and leave LA just because of such a remark.
While James’ agent is the CEO of Klutch Sports Group Rich Paulkeep your back, Paul completely refused call out Scott for his remarks about the Lakers star out of respect for one of the sport’s OGs.
“You can say or do something that looks or feels good in the moment, but it looks stupid and probably is stupid and lives stupid forever. For me, I was always taught to respect my elders. To respect everyone, but definitely respect my elders,” Paul said on the latest episode of the Game Over podcast with Max Kellerman.
“But then one day I sit there and I think, I see things, and I think, but what about when your elders do things or say things that actually call for disrespect. And there was a lot of that going on.”
Lakers star LeBron James didn’t say anything bad

Not as James said anything wrong; the three-point revolution ushered in an era of breakneck pace, and with so much talent in the NBA today, as well as rules that encourage freedom of movement that lead to a lot of open shots, defenses have more ground to cover than ever — leading to wear and tear.
Today, it is more difficult to play an 82-game season, and it is no coincidence that many players suffered soft tissue injuries during the 2025-26 campaign.
Old heads like Scott can defend how they paved the way for people like James to take the sport to where it is now, but the game has definitely evolved and it’s best for people like Scott to realize that.
