Rich Paul still wants Anthony Davis traded

Dallas The Mavericks could make some moves before the deadline, with the fact that he is the main person Anthony Davis. Over the past few weeks, rumors have been rife that Davis might be moved, but when he suffered a left hand injury, all trade talk went out the window.

Teams probably won’t want Davis nowespecially since he’s expected to miss the next five or more weeks, but there’s one person pushing the Mavericks to trade itand it is Rich Paulaccording to ESPN’s Tim McMahon.

“Rich Paul, who represents Anthony Davis, has made it clear that he wants his client traded,” McMahon told SportsCenter. “He believes it’s in his best interest. I don’t feel like the AD is banging on the front office door and saying, ‘Get me out of here.’ The Mavericks are scouting the market. They are aggressive. They’re having those conversations, but they’re not acting with a sense of urgency.

“They don’t feel they have to trade AD by the deadline. They don’t feel they have to trade him this summer. If Anthony Davis is on the Mavericks roster for opening camp next season, I don’t think anybody in Dallas sees that as a big problem.”

Before the injury, there were several teams interested in Davis, including the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors. Now they’ve waived the injury and it looks like Davis’ trade value has dropped, according to NBA insider Jake Fisher.

“In recent days, both the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors — the teams previously described as Davis’ most ardent suitors — have signaled that they are no longer involved in significant trade talks with the Mavericks. Interest in Davis appeared to have cooled since last week’s announcement that the 32-year-old would be sidelined for at least six weeks with a minor league injury,” Fieker wrote.

At this point, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Davis is still with the Mavericks at the deadline.
