Richard Sherman completely unloads on Jordan Love after an ugly Wild Card loss
Richard Sherman clearly not a fan of what he saw Green Bay Packers star Jordan Love after the Packers were defeated in the Wild Card round of the 2024 NFL playoffs by the Philadelphia Eagles. The quarterback signed a four-year, $220 million contract that runs through the 2024 season, averaging $55 million per year.
The new contract is based on just one season worth of performance from the Packers when he led Green Bay to the postseason in his first year as a starter. Speaking on the same, Sherman said Love should be treated as a veteran based on the contract he signed, not the fact that this is only his second year as the starting quarterback.

During his podcast, Sherman pointed out that he never felt like Aaron Rodgers’ successor had what it takes to win it all and the addition of star running back Josh Jacobs indicated, according to him, that Matt LaFleur and his coaching staff didn’t fully trust him.

“I don’t think Jordan Love showed me anything that really made me feel like, ‘Oh my God, he’s one of the guys.’ “He’s a guy who can beat anybody,” Sherman said. “I said that at the beginning of the season. I said, ‘Oh, that’s why they got Josh Jacobs. They don’t trust the quarterback. They’re going to treat him like a rookie, a $55 million rookie.”
“They’re going to run the ball well, limit his pass attempts, because they don’t want him to throw the play away,” Sherman said. “And they think that if they have to rely on his hand, they’re going to throw the game away… The truth is the truth, whether you believe it or not.” The tape will speak louder than I ever could.”
It was a really bad performance from the Green Bay Packers starter and the point of his performance as a rookie was relevant. In five wild-card games over Saturday and Sunday, the Packers scored the fewest points on offense other than the Denver Broncos. The Broncos did it with rookie Bo Nix in his first year where he didn’t have the opportunity to sit behind a future Hall of Famer like Jordan Love.
