Rudy Gobert will not return against the Kings



The Minnesota Timberwolves they were looking to start a small winning streak on sunday when they hosted the sacramento kings, but to get the win they had to do so with a small hand. Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert was turned off until the end of the team’s game against the Kings, due to what were called personal reasons, according to NBA ClutchPoint insider Brett Siegel.

Before Rudy Gobert was ruled out for the remainder of the Timberwolves game, he played 20 minutes and had seven points, 12 rebounds, three assists and one block. There was no further immediate information on Gobert’s absence by the end of the night, and a new update likely won’t come until after the game when Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch addresses the media.

The The Wolves have hit a hot stretch of the seasonwinning six of their last seven games against the Kings. As of publication, they had a slim lead against the Kings early in the fourth quarter.

So far this season, Gobert has played in all 25 games for the Wolves coming into Sunday, logging just over 31 minutes per game. He averaged 11.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 blocks, shooting 74.5 percent from the field and 54.3 percent from the free throw line.

Gobert is now in his fourth season with the Wolves and 13th overall in the NBA. 27th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Gobert has become one of the best defensive and rebounding big men in the league.
