Rudy Gobert’s wild Euro-step has to be seen to be believed
Much has been made over the years flaws in Rudy Gobert’s game. The Minnesota Timberwolves They dedicate such a huge chunk of their salary cap to Gobert, yet his offensive flaws couldn’t be more clear. He can’t space the floor, he can’t make opponents pay for putting a smaller defender against him in the post, and he sometimes has blocks of sand for hands.
But there are moments where Gobert forgets all his shortcomings and tries new things that can make even the most casual viewer go ooh and ahh. He’s an NBA player after all, and he has a deeper bag of tricks than a layman. On Tuesday night, the Timberwolves center dug deep into his arsenal and pulled out incredible eurostep on the way to i-one delay in transitioning from the turnover he made.

Gobert looked so sharp in that performance that it was easy for fans to forget that he is already 33 years old. He intercepted a Keyonta George pass, dribbled the ball on a fast break and secured the rock enough to keep the Utah Jazz guard’s shot from knocking the ball off his fingertips.
The Timberwolves have been playing good basketball the past few weeks (two-game losing streak notwithstanding) and Gobert’s stellar play — including the Eurostep — played such a big part in that.
Rudy Gobert, Timberwolves want to get back to winning ways

In the past two games, the Timberwolves have been defeated by the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs in close contests where the margins were so small.
Gobert continues to play his role to perfection, and the Timberwolves are following his defensive leadership on Tuesday against the Jazz. At the time of this writing, Minnesota is outscoring Utah by double digits in the fourth quarter, and they look poised to get back to winning ways.
