Rui Hachimura causes an unexpected ending to Wembi’s night

Showdown on Wednesday night between the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers in La La Land he lived up to his billing. Luka Doncic and the Lakers escaped with a narrow 118-116 victory, handing San Antonio its second straight loss.
Spurs star big man Victor Vembanyama filled the stat sheets again for his team, but was unable to add more to his tally after fouling out in key parts of the game.
With the Lakers holding a one-point lead with less than 1:40 to go in regulation, Wembanjama attempted a drive off the dribble, but the Los Angeles forward met him just outside the shade. Vembanjama exited the game with 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in 37 minutes of action. He shot poorly from the field, hitting just five of his 14 field goal attempts, but made a living at the foul line, where he went 9-for-11. Vembanjama wasn’t the only Spurs player to foul out in the Lakers game, with Harrison Barnes and Jeremy Sochan each drawing all six of their fouls in an effort to contain Los Angeles.
The loss against Los Angeles dropped the Spurs to 5-2, while the Lakers improved to 7-2 overall.
