Rui Hachimura gets brutally honest about playing with LeBron James, Anthony Davis

“With Bron, he has a lot of attention, he gets all the attention defensively. Literally, sometimes everyone’s looking at him,” Hachimura said. “I think those are the things, when they get a lot of defense and attention, Bron and AD, we have to move more, but we can’t kill the spacing. We have to go back and watch film trying to see what the spacing looks like to fix it.”

With the NBA trade deadline approaching, Hachimura is a name that has been popping up in potential trade rumors. He is a player who has value and can be part of what makes a bigger trade work. But that is not likely That he will be traded this season, according to Dan Vocke of the Los Angeles Times.

As for the consistency that Redick has been talking about all season, Hachimura fits that description to a tee. He was among the most entertaining Lakers players under Redix. He’s not a flashy player, but he does the job in terms of simply being consistent.

Hachimura has appeared in 37 games this season, averaging just 32 minutes per game. He averaged 12.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists on 16.7 percent shooting from the field, 41 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 77.5 percent shooting from the free throw line.

He did a good job of breaking the ball hard toward the basket, and James and Davis often found him for easier scoring opportunities.

This is Hachimura’s second full season with the team after being acquired in a trade with the High Wizards ahead of the 2023 trade deadline. He played about three and a half seasons for the Wizards after being selected with the 9th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
