Russell Westbrook takes a seat after destroying a floor beer

Sacramento Kings star rush Russell Westbrook always plays at 100 mph.

During the first quarter of Sacramento’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedExForum in Memphis, the former NBA MVP’s aggressive play claimed a victim in the form of beer.

While bringing the ball up court, Westbrook was blocked and fouled by Memphis guard Scottie Pippen Jr. That sent Westbrook to the sideline, where he inadvertently stepped on a drink (probably beer). The sheer force of Westbrook’s swing caused the drink to spill over him and onto the floor, causing a delay of game as it took some time for the mess on the court to be cleaned up.

Meanwhile, Westbrook took the place in court how things were settled. He could also be seen looking for a towel to wipe the drink off his body.

Metaphorically speaking, that drink may represent the kind of season Westbrook and the Kings are having. Sacramento has consistently trounced teams in the 2025-26 NBA campaign.

In fact, the Kings entered Monday on a terrible losing streak, having lost 16 games in a row. At 12-46 against the Grizzlies, the Kings are currently the worst team in the league, based on the standings.

Sacramento’s record, however, will not be the reason why the 37-year-old Westbrook, who is on one-year contract with the Kingshe approaches every game because he can be expected to continue to play as if everything is on the line.
