Russell Wilson credits his teammates for not giving up against the Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers couldn’t handle the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday. Pittsburgh lost to Baltimore 28-14 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score made it seem. The The Steelers went into halftime trailing 21-0but in the end he managed to finish the game in the second half.

Steelers KB Russell Wilson gave a long interview after Saturday’s loss to the Ravens. Of course, Wilson was first asked about the team’s slow start during the first half.

“I think the big thing is that we didn’t play enough in the first half,” Wilson told reporters after the game. “For whatever reasons, and I have to watch the film and see what it is.”

Wilson quickly turned to praise his teammates for not giving up during the second half.

“We didn’t give up, and that’s why I’m proud of these guys in this locker room,” Wilson continued. “The way we approached it, even though we were down, we gave ourselves a chance and a glimmer of hope for a while.” We fought. The boys didn’t give up, the boys gave it their all in every game.”

Pittsburgh outscored Baltimore 14-7 during the third quarter. Unfortunately, they couldn’t sustain their offensive production in the fourth quarter. Neither team scored during the final frame.

The Steelers got their chances, but falling behind early worked against them. Baltimore made a concerted effort to run out the clock by running the football after building a big lead.

Pittsburgh made a valiant effort to fight back in the second half. They just couldn’t get the job done.

Russell Wilson is thinking about the 2024 season with the Steelers after Saturday’s loss

Now that the 2024 season is over for Pittsburgh, attention now turns to the future of the team.

One of those questions is whether Wilson will return to Pittsburgh this offseason under a new contract. Wilson tried not to reveal too much when thinking about the 2024 season with the Steelers after Saturday’s loss.

“The Pittsburgh Steelers organization, man. It was a great blessing to be here. The guys we have, the organization, it’s really first class. “Obviously, we love the city and what it means, not only to me and Ciara and our family, but to the National Football League,” Wilson told reporters Saturday.

Wilson appeared to express a desire to return to Pittsburgh, but realizes he’s not in full control of that decision.

“It’s a special place, with special guys,” Wilson concluded. “We have a special coach in Coach Tomlin. We have a special organization, special people, special players, special fan base. It has truly been a blessing in my life. It was one of the best years for me personally to be a Pittsburgh Steeler. Obviously, I hope I’m here, and everything. I trust God, whatever that is.”

It will be interesting to see how the Steelers approach the KB position this offseason.
