Russell Wilson reveals position on Steelers return in 2025

The Pittsburgh Steelers‘ The 2024 season started well but ended badly, losing five in a row to end the campaign. That included a 28-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round on Saturday.
Doc Russell Wilson he played well at times in his first year with the team, he didn’t show up down the stretch. It’s unknown at this point if the Steelers will try to bring him back, but the quarterback made it clear on Monday that he would like to reunite with Pittsburgh and return for another season.

“That’s the plan,” Wilson said Monday at the team’s locker room cleanup. “I like it here and everything, and I think we have a great football team.
“Obviously it didn’t end the way we wanted, and I think there’s a lot more to do.”

Wilson signed a one-year contract with the Steelers last offseason after a nightmare with the Denver Broncos. Although he missed the first six games of ’24 with a calf injuryhe ended up completing 63% of his passes for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns with five interceptions. However, Mike Tomlin’s side averaged just 14 points during the horrific loss.
“I thought I played well,” Wilson said. “There are moments where I wish I had played a little better.” I feel like I’ve had two shows that I wish I had back, to be honest. The one in Kansas City and the one at the Ravens game. Apart from that, I especially competed in those two performances and did my best.
He obviously felt like we didn’t play well enough when we needed to as a team. I hated missing games. I hated missing the first six games. I don’t really miss games like that and it was disappointing, but I love how the guys make plays.”
Wilson openly said he has yet to speak with the Steelers about next season. With that in mind, the veteran made it known that he would love to be in black and gold in 2025.
