Ryan Reynolds marks 5 years at Wrexham with a bold move

Five years after taking charge of Wrexham AFC, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mack are trying something that neither has done ago, according to BusinessWire. The club’s co-chairmen will host the live coverage of Wrexham’s match against Swansea City on March 13, marking a major milestone in their ownership journey.
The event, entitled Live from Wrexham with Rob and Ryan, will be broadcast by SToK Cae Ras and will run alongside traditional match coverage. The Welsh derby kicks off at 20:00 GMT and US viewers can tune in at 16:00 EDT. Sky Sports will produce the show and Paramount+ will host it in the United States.
In typical Reynolds and Mac fashion, the tone promises to mix humor with raw honesty. The two acknowledged the risk when they first stepped into the commentary booth. “As with our decision to take over Wreckham five years ago, we really have no idea how this will play out,” they said, adding that they had never called a sporting event before. They even joked that they hoped Sky Sports would keep the buzzer button ready.

A different way to experience match day
The show will feature real-time reaction and analysis from Reynolds and Mack, joined by Sky Sports presenter David Prutton. Organizers describe it as unscripted and honest, offering fans behind-the-scenes access that reflects the storytelling style that made Welcome to Wreckham a global success.
Since buying the club in February 2021, the Hollywood duo have overseen three consecutive promotions, lifting Rackham into the EFL Championship for the first time in more than four decades. That rise fueled international interest and turned the club into a cultural as well as a sporting story.
Chief executive Michael Williamson said the live show reflected the ownership group’s desire to push the boundaries and create new ways for supporters around the world to connect with the team.
For Reynolds and Mack, five years is more than a celebration. It signals another experiment in mixing sports and entertainment, this time in real time.
