Sam Darnold’s weak acknowledgment after the 4 INT mess against the Rams

The Seattle Seahawks entered Sunday’s heavyweight battle with the Los Angeles Rams as one of the hottest teams in football. The defense closed everything and Sam Darnold cut secondary left and right.
The defense held up its end of the bargain Sunday in Hollywood, stifling the Rams’ explosive offense after a shaky first quarter. however, Darnold is back in the player that fans were accustomed to returning during his time with the New York Jets, throwing four interceptions in a 21-19 loss.
After the game, Darnold talked about his struggles and how they’ll learn from this loss, via ESPN’s Brady Henderson.
“I can’t turn the ball over like I did today,” Darnold said, per Henderson. “I’m going to learn from it, watch the tape, grow from it. You’ve got to give the Rams credit. Obviously, they’re a really good defense, a really good team. But I’ve got to get better, personally.”
Despite Darnold’s struggles, the Seahawks still got the ball back with a chance to win the game later. After Kenneth Walker II’s touchdown cut a nine-point deficit to just two, the Seahawks defense forced a stop and gave Darnold the ball back at their own one-yard line.
Seattle managed a field goal, but Jason Myers missed a 61-yarder as time expired.
“When it came to backing us up at the 1-yard line, it was just, ‘Let’s go play the ball,'” Darnold said after the game. “We’re still in this despite the turnovers and all the things that happened before that. It’s a big credit to our defense, the way they played all day. I just wish I could have played better for our defense and for everyone on the team.”
“Bunny and shit. Should be shit. I’ll just keep grinding and learning from this for the next few days.”
The The Seahawks now fall to 7-3 on the season and are in the middle of the NFC playoffs even after this loss, but it will be tough to catch the Rams in the division race now after this loss. However, the two teams will square off again on Thursday night in Week 16, so that could have big implications in this race as well.
