San Antonio player asks Hawks to cancel Magic City promotional night

The The Atlanta Hawks made quite a splash when they announced the plans to host a Magic City-themed promotion during one of their home games. Magic City is a famous strip club based in Atlanta that routinely attracts celebrity patrons. But not everyone is in favor of promoting the Hawks, including San Antonio Spurs a great man Luke Cornet.
Luke Cornett, who runs a public online blog while playing for the Spurs, published a new post this week explaining his reasoning on why he thinks the Hawks should cancel their Magic City promotional night.
“This week, the Atlanta Hawks ‘announced a special one-night collaboration to celebrate the city’s iconic cultural institution Magic City’ during the team’s home games against the Orlando Magic on Monday, March 16,” Cornett wrote. “In their press release, the Hawks failed to acknowledge that this venue is as wonderful as the premier ‘Atlantic Job’ club. Given this fact, I would respectfully ask the Atlanta Hawks to cancel this promotion an evening with Magic City.
Cornett went on to explain the potential dangers of working in such an industry, while suggesting that the Magic City is not the type of family business the NBA should be promoting.
The Hawks’ promotional night is currently scheduled for March 16 during the team’s home game against the Orlando Magic. Ticket sales reportedly increased for the game, and the team has already started selling merchandise related to promotion.
While Cornett may be against the idea, there are others, like the former NBA player Lou Williams, who expressed his support from the undertaking.
