Scotty Barnes’ game-changing difference against the Thunder is highlighted in 2 stats

One could argue Toronto Raptors forward Block by Scotty Barnes on Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder with 28.6 seconds left was the game of the night in a 103-101 victory at the Paicom Center. It capped off a game-changing performance with the stats to back it up, as Barnes made his presence felt all around, not just in the clutch.

One of six Raptors to score in double figures, he finished with a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds), eight rebounds and three blocks. Barnes also had a big impact on the Thunder’s offense, highlighted by two statistical categoriesaccording to Raptors reporter Keerthika Uthaiakumar.

“The Raptors were +15 tonight with Barnes on the court. They were outscored by 13 in the 16 minutes he was out,” Uthaiakumar said. “OKC shot 35.3% from the field with him on the court, 62.5% from the field when he was off the court.

Barnes’ block on Holmgren forced the Thunder to foul the Raptors’ Jamal Sheed, who missed a pair of free throws that would have cemented a two-possession lead.

Instead, Shead gave the Thunder a glimmer of hope with 13.0 seconds left in the game before Barnes stole it with an offensive rebound to regain possession. Immanuel Quickley’s two free throws gave him a game-high 23 points and his team a four-point lead, extending the Raptors’ winning streak to four.
